PET: OUR VISION FOR A SUSTAINABLE FUTURE
It is not a well-known fact but polyethylene terephthalate (PET) is one of the most environmentally-friendly products of all packaging on the market for one-way packaging. Studies continue to show it is more environmentally friendly than glass after taking into consideration the full environmental costs of production, transport, cleaning and so on.
PET's lightweight nature and durability make it an ideal choice for packaging, as it can be easily transported without incurring a significant carbon footprint, and it can be easily recycled at the end of its life cycle. According to the Association of Plastic Recyclers (APR), the current recycling rate for PET bottles in the US is among the highest of all plastics at 28%. That means that tons of PET bottles are being diverted from landfills and turned into new products, like clothing, carpets, and even new bottles and containers.

R-PET is recycled PET and can be used for a wide variety of applications including food and beverage packaging. Resilux uses these r-PET flakes or pellets to create new packaging solutions as a way of achieving circularity in material usage.
The process of recycling PET involves collecting, sorting, cleaning, and melting down PET products, like plastic bottles and containers, into pellets or flakes at our state of the art facilities. These PCR materials can then be used to create new PET preforms and PET bottles at our USA manufacturing facilities. The resulting PCR packaging is just as strong and durable as its virgin counterpart while promoting a more circular economy and reducing waste.
